Hooray for Monday

Double exposures of San Francisco and Denmark.

To celebrate the beginning of a new week, here's what I'm looking forward to in the coming days.

//Lots of sleep. I'm always having the hardest time getting over my jetlag when flying from the US to Denmark.

//Perhaps a birth or two? Keeping my fingers crossed!

//Making chocolate chip cookies for my roommate and I. I brought home a bag of chocolate chips from the US...mmm.

Departure

At the airport.
My flight departs in an hour. As per usual I've been early and so I've had plenty of time looking through the film pictures I've taken on my trip; lots of victorian houses, views and sunshine. Pretty things.
But this one is my favorite, a double exposure. My sister in our parents garden, snow on the ground and cold in the air, and a lonely car on a San Francisco street. They're a perfect picture match.

Rayko Photo Center

Rayko Photo Center mostly offers classes (I've taken a couple of excellent ones) but I thought I'd mention them here because they always have interesting (free!) little photo exhibits going on. There are lots of cool analog cameras too as well as an awesome photobooth. Their exhibits change fairly often and it's easy to check if there's something interesting going on on their website.
The front door is usually locked but just ring the bell and you'll be buzzed in.

General Store

General Store in Outer Sunset, San Francisco.

I thought it'd be appropriate to share just a couple more of my favorite shops in San Francisco this week since I'm in California at the moment. So here we go...

General Store is, yet another, one of the stores that carry a little bit of everything. And a whole lot of stuff-that-it-would-like-for-myself-please. I mean, just look at those hats!
It's located at the very last stop of the N-Judah muni train and with Ocean Beach as it's next door neighbor.

Yes, that's a naked man. Oh, how can you not love those crazy San Franciscans!

I left a sunny San Francisco to arrive in an overcast and dark L.A. The irony! One of my oldest and dearest friends will arrive in just a couple of hours and we'll head to Crumbs tonight. I've never been but apparently their cupcakes should be over-the-top delicious.

Just checking in from the greatest city in the world. I've got checks flushed from sunlight and feet sore from walking. I've got film to develop and a bag full of goodies to bring home. I've been eating donuts and tacos and drinking teas. I've visited old favorites and found new treasures.
 It's really rather amazing what you can accomplish in just 3 short days.
