Knitted Christmas Gifts 2012 //03

Plain vest for Carla. This is my third time using this pattern, it's pretty great.

Bandana cowls for a couple of friends. Easy-peasy and so quick to knit.

Pictures from my commute to the hospital. Taken last week.

It started snowing again late last night, just as I was walking home.
It could have been quite magic walking through the quiet snowy streets of Copenhagen had it not been for the icy cold wind. It made me hurry along.

Today I wave goodbye to the cold for a couple of weeks, San Francisco might not be hot but at least it's warmer. I'm excited! In some ways I almost feel like I'm going home.

Stella Pixie Hat for Carla. I made a few modifications: instead of knitting the neckband I picked up and knit a neckwarmer using a combination of short rows and 1x1 plus 2x2 ribbing.

Light summer sweater. Love this one so much!

Hi! I'm in the midst of a 24 hour written exam at the moment. Almost done - just needed a little break.

Hooray for Monday

To celebrate the beginning of a new week, here's what I'm looking forward to in the coming days.

//San Francisco! I'll be leaving for 2 weeks in just 6 days.

Wishing you a joyful week.

Mini Mac DIY

When I started school last year we where told to bring name tags so that the teachers could call us by name. I kept loosing mine and seeing as I always used my computer in classes I turned it into a portable name tag (using washi tape).
Last week I saw some triangle stickers at Søstrene Grene and decided to change the look. Simple and quick.

Hooray for Monday

"Hello Copenhagen!"

To celebrate the beginning of a new week, here's what I'm looking forward to in the coming days.

//Spending tomorrow morning with my dear friend Nina.

//Drinking hot chocolate while the snowflakes are falling outside.

//Exploring Copenhagen with my parents and sister who'll be visiting this weekend.

Pom pom hats for some of 'my' boys (i.e. I was their nanny when I lived in San Francisco). A couple of more pictures here and Miss Carla wearing a similar one here
Pattern: my own.

Wrist warmers and a hat for my sister. There's a picture of me wearing one of the wrist warmers here.
Patterns:
Emerald Green Handwarmers
Felicity Hat

I'd like to share a couple of knitted gifts today. This year I actually had everything knitted and wrapped by the beginning of December due to a combination of starting earlier, deciding on some smaller and more manageable projects and using the same pattern for different people (knitting the same thing the second time around always goes a lot faster for me).

New favorites

The last couple of months I've stumbled upon so many great new-to-me blogs that I thought I'd share a few of them with you. If you've got some extra time and/or need some inspiration I highly recommend having a look these:

A Beautiful Mess

This Ones for You

Souvenirs

Swatch Diaries

The Road is Home

Wool Rocks

Please share any new (or old) favorite blog of yours if you'd like.

Hooray for Monday

To celebrate the beginning of a new week, here's what I'm looking forward to in the coming days.

//Birthing women and brand new babies. Of course.

//Exploring Copenhagen.

//Knitting for Wool-Aid. I hope to have a bunch of knitted goodies, mostly hats like the one on the picture, ready by the end of the month.

Time flies! Suddenly the 7th day of the new year is also my first post this year. I hope you've had a terrific beginning to 2013.
I spent the last days of 2012 and most of Christmas on the couch at my parents house nursing a pretty nasty flu. My sister was sick with pneumonia so we were stuck in front of the TV with our parents taking care of us. Bringing us food, cold wraps and water. If you have to be sick then aforementioned setup is as good as it gets.
I moved to Copenhagen on the first day of 2013. And I started my internship on the second day. I've seen one (beautiful and peaceful) birth so far. Only one. I'm getting a little impatient and crossing my fingers that tomorrows shift will bring me another one.
Welcome 2013. I have a feeling that you'll be a good one.
