Eat like a queen

Feasting after my morning run with eggs, bacon and skyr. I just started running. I'm not a runner but since figuring out that I'll be at a hospital in Holbœk (small town fairly close to Copenhagen) for my clinical internship, there's really no other option. There's no fitness center there, or there's no fitness center with decent classes, and since I don't want to get out of shape 5 months out of the year for the next 3.5 years* I'm determined to become a runner. Or at least a person who likes running.
I'm using this app which I highly recommend. It's really simple and has a great routine of Run-Walk-Run-Walk and then gradually builds up to longer stretches of running -and less walking. I'm 2 weeks in and still going strong.

Also, I could be a vegetarian if it wasn't for bacon. I don't think I could ever give that up.

*The bachelor program of Midwifery here in Denmark is 50% school and 50% clinical internship at a hospital.

  1. I really, really miss running. I used to do that at least five days a week, but I have bad knees and eventually they were hurting too much to even walk properly. After a couple of pain-free years I always try again - don't know why because I know what the result will be; aching knees again... Right now I am at a point where I'm thinking of seeing a doctor about it. Even if I do, and even if they figure out what's wrong and correct it, I've had to make a decision not to run again. It's not worth the weeks and months of aching. But I do miss it, a lot!! And I hope you will enjoy your runs as much as I did! :)

  2. glad to learn a little bit more about your degree. i've been taking the time to exercise (for 15 mins - not much, but it might be more than 3.5 years before I get a chance to do more!)) each day for the last 1 week, and I keept telling myself that I feel better (i don't really, but i'm sure i'll be glad someday!). i don't get bacon, but salame? ah, salame! can't live without :)

    1. Baconvegater - godt ord! Det skal ihvert fald overvejes. Krydser fingrer for rutine og løbeglœde!
