Noe Valley reminds me of a little village where everyone knows each other. There's always a ton of strollers and families and lots of neighborly talking on street corners and coffee shops.

Downtown Noe Valley is on Noe St between Castro St and Church St.

I've lived in and around S.F. for almost 5 years. These are some of my favourite places to be in the most amazing city in the world. Click on the top photo if you want to see the whole guide or scroll down if you're looking for a specific neighborhood.

The Rime Frost Cowl

I started this cowl when we had the first rime frost here. I knew I wanted something that was warm, comfy and simple to knit. This cowl is exactly that.

Here's the pattern if you'd like to make one for yourself.

Rime Frost Cowl

Yarn: Lion Brand Thick and Quick around 1,5 skeins (I'm not quite sure about this though)
Needle: size US 11
Gauge: 9,5 st and 15 rows = 10 cm/4" in stockinette st.

Garter Stitch pattern:
Row 1: Purl
Row 2: Knit
Row 3: *K5, P5* continue to from * to * to end of row
Row 4: Knit

CO 52 st and join in the round. place marker. Knit in stockinette st for about 15 cm/6"

Decrease 2 st. evenly on the next row

Knit 5 rounds of the garter stitch pattern

Next row: Purl and decrease 2 st evenly (48 st left)

Knit in stockinette stitch for 2,5 cm/1"

Change to *K2,P2* rib pattern for 7 cm/2,5"

Bind off in pattern

Enjoy and please let me know if you have any problems with the pattern.
